Titwala village talathi Ragunath B Burkhud had allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 from a person for entering his name in records for a land purchase made by him at Gotsai village in Kalyan taluka of Thane district, SP ACB Sandeep Karnik said.
Later, the deal was struck at Rs 10,000, he said.
The person later lodged a complaint with the ACB, following which its sleuths laid a trap and caught Burkhud at his office in Titwala while accepting the bribe yesterday, the official said.
