Villagers thrash members of marriage party, boy injured

A 10-year-old boy was injured when a scuffle broke out between the members of two marriage parties and some people of a village in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district after they objected to the music being played during the procession, police said today.
The incident happened last night when some upper caste residents of Jurera village objected to the music being played in the marriage procession of two Dalits and allegedly thrashed some members of the procession, a police official said, adding that a ten-year-old boy was injured.
Two villagers identified as Daana and Pattu were arrested and an FIR against eight persons was lodged last night, SHO of Rudhaval police station Banne Singh said today.

The FIR was lodged under sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50) of IPC and relevant sections of SC/ST Act, he added.
Meanwhile, condemning the incident, PCC President Sachin Pilot alleged that the crime against Dalits have risen in the BJP rule.
