"Modi wave swept the Lok Sabha polls across the country and Himachal was no exception," he said while talking to media persons.
He, however, said "It is a temporary setback and Congress would come out of it and the poll results would have no fall out in the state."
Asked whether he would tender resignation like Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Singh said "he (Gogoi) might have some compulsions, but I have no such thing."
Denying that it was a referendum against the state government, Singh said there can be no anti-incumbency against the government which is only one year old.
"When there is a wave, there is no such calculation and all the Congress MLAs did work hard," he said, adding that the Congress government and the party organisation worked with coordination.
Singh congratulated Narendra Modi over BJP's win and hoped that the state government would receive full cooperation from the Centre under his leadership.
Asked about former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal's claims about government, Singh said, "It is his wishful thinking that the government will fall after Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister."
"It is victory of the people who have totally rejected the polices of political vendetta and revenge pursued by chief minister and they have given a befitting reply," he said.
