The Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan has decided to allot land in its campus to Bangladesh for the construction of a centre for research and documentation on the country, President Pranab Mukherjee said here today.
He said "Bangladesh Bhavan" will serve as a "focal point for research and documentation under the 'Bangladesh Studies Programme' of Visva Bharati".
Mukherjee said there are few countries in the world where music, poetry, art and drama are "as deeply ingrained in a nation's conscience as in Bangladesh".
