A first-year law student at a university here was allegedly raped by a senior student after a party early this morning, police said.
The accused was identified as Rishabh Singh (22), a fourth year law student, and a native of Bihar.
The victim, who is 19 years old, hails from Uttar Pradesh and stays in a private hostel. According to her complaint, last night she went to an apartment, where four girls from the second-year lived for the preparation of the next month's 'moot court' competition.
Inspector S Vidyasagar of MPV Police Station said, both Rishabh Singh and the victim had had drinks at the apartment.
According to her, after the drinking session, she, another girl, and the accused, slept in the living room. At around 4 am, Singh allegedly raped her.
She lodged the complaint this morning, police said, adding, a case has been registered under section 376 of IPC (rape) and the accused arrested.
