"We will come up with one more centre at Candolim. We are also planning to start a training centre in Goa which will impart training to people keen to work in beauty and wellness sphere," Luthra recently told reporters in Goa.
VLCC already has presence in Goa through its Panaji centre.
According to Luthra, VLCC has achieved "tremendous growth" in the last 27 years. "From a standalone centre in 1989 to about 330 centres worldwide in 2016, it has been a fulfilling and enriching experience," she added.
"The proportion of women who are overweight or obese has increased from 20.2 per cent in 2005-06 to 33.5 per cent in 2015-16. The proportion of overweight or obese men increased from 15.5 in 2005-06 to 32.6 in 2015-16."
Luthra expressed concern about the trend at pan-India level, saying morbid obesity affects five per cent of the country's population.
