Singing duo Ward Thomas have made history in the UK by becoming the first homegrown country act to hit the top of the album chart.
The sisters' new release, "Cartwheels", has debuted at number one on the Official Charts Company survey, ahead of a new Carpenters compilation, The Nation's Favourite Carpenters Songs, which is the companion album to a recent TV documentary that aired in Britain, reported BBC.
Lizzy and Catherine Ward Thomas last hit the charts in 2014 with their debut "From Where We Stand", which failed to make the top 40.
