Water released from Lower Bhavani dam

Water from the Lower Bhavani reservoir has been released today by the District administration for irrigation purpose.
Following orders from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, water was released from the dam into the canal by opening the shutters today afternoon.
District Collector, Dr V K Shanmugham said water level in the dam was 76 feet against the full level of 105 feet.
Initially 500 cusecs of water would be allowed for irrigationand slowly it would be increased. The dam is getting 1,970 cusecs of water now.
