WB aided work shelters for fishermen to come up in 6 hamlets

A Rs 21 crore World Bank aided project to construct 10 work shelters for fishermen would come up in six hamlets, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said today.
The work shelters would have facilities to repair engines, boats and fishing nets and also offer amenities like cloak rooms for fishermen,he said after laying the foundation stone for a work shelter at Mandapathur village.
The other hamlets where the shelters would come up are Kaalikuppam, Akkampettai, Kottucherrymedu, Keezhkaasakkudimedu and Kilinjalmedu.
The Chief Minister said the World Bank aided project would be implemented by the tsunami project implementation agency,functioning under the control of Karaikal Municipality.
