WB minister criticises Centre for sitting tight on report

In a counter-offensive against the Centre on the issue of handling of the Burdwan blast and the tackling of infiltration from across the border, a senior West Bengal minister today charged it with "sitting tight" on the report sent to it by the state government on the incident.
Citing the October 2 blast in Burdwan in which two suspected militants were killed, TMC secretary general and Education minister Partha Chatterjee said, "A report was sent (by the state government) at an appropriate time but why did they (the Centre) sit on the report for some days?"
"We feel there was a political motive behind this. This is our belief ... And it is based on the experience which we have witnessed in the past few days," he said.

The minister also criticised the Centre for "failing" to curb illegal immigration from the neighbouring country for which, he said, "it (Centre) owes an answer".
Countering the BJP charge against the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal of allegedly encouraging illegal immigration from Bangladesh, Chatterjee without naming any country asked "If infiltration takes place across the border and negligence takes places whose responsibility is it? What is the role of the border guards of the Central government? "
"I want to ask the babus of the Centre and their supporters here on whom does the responsibility of guarding the
borders rest? Who deploys the border guards ?

"Before giving explanation on the issue of infiltration I want to say that responsibilities lies on the central agency to keep a vigil on movement of people (from across the border).
