Delhi PWD minister Satyendar Jain on Friday hit out at the Centre for not inviting any AAP minister to the inauguration of a skywalk at ITO here, saying the Arvind Kejriwal-led government just wants to do its work.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will inaugurate the skywalk on Monday, which was funded by the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry and constructed by the Delhi Public Works Department.

Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi have been invited to the inaugural ceremony.

In response to a question by reporters over the issue, Jain said, "They (Centre) assigned the work. Our job was to construct the skywalk and they have assigned to themselves the responsibility of inaugurating it."
"Our work is being praised as we (Delhi PWD) have done a good job," he said, adding "We are happy. We just want to be allowed to execute projects, and they can do the inauguration."
Chief Minister Kejriwal in a tweet in Hindi said, "It doesn't matter. We are concerned about the work. The lives of residents of Delhi should be improve. That's all."
