Wheat remains down on increased supply

Wheat remained weak and prices fell by Rs 5 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today due to reduced offtake by flour mills against increased supplies from producing areas.
Maize and barley also eased on subdued demand from consuming industries.
Traders said reduced offtake by flour mills against increased arrivals from producing regions mainly kept pressure on wheat prices.
They said subdued demand from consuming industries also put pressure on maize and barley prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) fell further by Rs 5 to Rs 1,635-1,640 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,640-1,645 per 90 kg. Maida eased by Rs 10 to Rs 950-970 per 50 kg.
Maize and barley also traded lower at Rs 1,440-1,445 and Rs 1,430-1,440 from previous levels of Rs 1,470-1,475 and Rs 1,460-1,470 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,130-2,330, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,635-1,640, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,640-1,645 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 880-890 (50 kg), Maida 950-970 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,020-1,040 (50kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 8,700-9,100, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 7,850-9,500, Permal raw 2,200-2,250, Permal wand 2,250-2,350, Sela 2,800-2,900 and Rice IR-8- 1,850-1,900, Bajra 1,340-1,350, Jowar yellow 1,500-1,530, white 2,350-2,560, Maize 1,440-1,445, Barley 1,430-1,440, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
