Wheat prices edged up by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to increased offtake by flour mills.
However, rice basmati eased on adequate stocks against muted demand from retailers.
Traders said better offtake by flour mills helped wheat prices to trade marginally higher.
They said however, sufficient stocks against sluggish demand from retailers kept pressure on the rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) inched up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,705-1,710 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,710-1,720 per 90 kg.
