In an endeavour to explore policies and best practices for men to maintain balance between work and family, the White House will hold an event to explore the state of "working dads".
"We are hosting an event to explore the state of working dads, including the challenges dads face balancing career and family, and how he can better support the needs of both businesses and working families," White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest said yesterday.
This discussion is part of a series of events we have been doing leading up to the White House Summit on Working Families that is scheduled for June 23.
The summit would be attended by the US President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, the First Lady Michelle Obama and the Second Lady Dr Jill Biden.
"They'll be there alongside business leaders, labour leaders, economists, policymakers, advocates and workers who are directly facing these challenges," Earnest said.
"We know that workplaces that make full use of the talented pool of American workers are essential to a thriving and healthy economy, to enabling businesses to stay competitive in today's global economy, and helping all workers ensure the economic stability of their families," he said.
