Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said here today that the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) would issue a white paper about Greater Mumbai's traffic related issues.
"I have asked MRVC to issue a white paper about different issues of traffic in Greater Mumbai. I have also asked MRVC to seek suggestions from common people. Work is in progress on the white paper and we are confident when it is out in July, it would give a precise picture of Mumbai's transport conditions," Prabhu said.
"I have spoken to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray to discuss the issue of how the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) can be our partner in solving Mumbai's transport woes," he said.
Prabhu said that Mumbai needs an Integrated Transport Solution comprising roadways, waterways, metro rail, mono rail and suburban railways to enable people travel seamlessly across the city using a single ticket for all services.
