JD(U) today questioned the unavailability of information about the "clandestine" meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi last week.
"Why has no official press release or photograph released after Prime Minister's meeting with Manjhi on February 7, hours after the latter's participation at the NITI Aayog meeting in the national capital?" JD(U) legislature party leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said at a press conference.
"It is customary that a press release is issued after the Prime Minister's meeting with any dignitary accompanied by photographs....Why an exception has been made in the case of Modi's meeting with Manjhi?" he wondered.
Alleging that the BJP was backing the Manjhi government from behind the scene, Chaudhary said that the saffron party leaders were not saying a word against the chief minister and his government for the past many days as if they were afflicted with "speech paralysis".
The same BJP had gone hammer and tongs against the Manjhi government on governance and law and order related issues, but they were not saying a word against the chief minister now, he added.
