Wild dogs death in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve prompts probe
Press Trust of India Udhagamandalam (TN) The forest department has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of four wild dogs in a village falling under Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, near here, forest officials said today.
On receiving information that four wild dogs were found lying dead in a village near Bhoothanatham in Mayar village this morning, the forest officials reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigations, they said.
A detailed investigation and postmortem will be carried out, they added.
Indian wild dogs are protected under schedule I category of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.
