A day after Telangana Home Minister alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was the "key person" in entire episode of a TDP MLA allegedly trying to bribe a nominated MLA in Legislative Council polls, Naidu today said he would not be "cowed down by any threats".
"... (Telangana) Home Minister (Nayani Narasimha Reddy) is speaking that a case would be filed against me. I say one thing, TDP is synonymous with honesty and integrity. I have done politics for the last 30 years in a proper system.
"I have never done wrong politics like you. If you have guts, you should file a case against your Chief Minister (K Chandrasekhar Rao), how he gave berth to my MLA in Cabinet (a reference to an MLA elected on TDP ticket being a minister in Telangana Cabinet)," Naidu said while addressing a meeting in East Godavari district.
Naidu noted that another Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA had a meeting (with Rao) a day before of the Legislative Council polls.
"You should say what did you do by taking my MLA to your home a day before. He (MLA) was given escort by police officers and also protection at home. That means you did the unethical thing. I would never do such things in my life," he alleged.
Naidu hit out at YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for his party supporting Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) in the council polls.
Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy yesterday alleged that Naidu is the "key person" in the entire matter of TDP MLA Revanth Reddy allegedly trying to bribe a nominated MLA in Legislative Council polls.
"Revanth Reddy embroiled (into matter) by giving an offer of Rs five crore to defeat our party (TRS) MLCs (candidates in council elections). This is going to bring a big change in politics in the state because Chandrababu Naidu is the key person in this.
"Chandrababu spoke to the MLA on phone. That telephone information is there. People are demanding that Chandrababu be made the main accused," the Home Minister had said and added that law will take its own course in the matter.
Reddy was arrested on Sunday for allegedly trying to give a bribe to nominated MLA in the Telangana Legislative Council polls held this week.
