"The Florida Project" actor joins Edward Norton in the project, which is an official adaptation of the Jonathan Lethem novel by the same name, reported Variety.
Norton is also directing the film, while Bill Migliore and Stuart Blumberg will serve as the producers.
The film is set in 1954's New York where a private investigator, affected by Tourette Syndrome, witnesses the murder of his only friend and mentor, by shadowy thugs.
It will be executive produced by Gigi Pritzker, Rachel Shane and Sue Kroll.
