Woman, 2 daughters crushed to death by speeding truck in Raj

A 35-year-old woman and her two minor daughters were today killed after they were hit by a truck, while they were waiting for a bus near Baran area on National Highway 27 in the district.
The mishap occurred around 12:30 PM today when the woman, along with the two girls, was waiting for a bus to travel to her parents' home in Sangod town of Kota district, police said.
A speeding truck, coming from Kishanganj went out of control and ran over the three, who were standing on the roadside, said Chothmal Verma, ASI, Baran city kotwali. They were killed on the spot, he said.

The husband of deceased woman is a constable in Rajasthan police, he added.
The dead bodies were handed over to the family members after postmortem in the afternoon. Police have lodged a case of negligent driving against the truck driver who was taken into police custody immediately after the incident.
The vehicle involved in the accident has been seized, they said. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
