Woman allegedly kills her own son

A woman allegedly killed her two years old son on his birthday at Parsigutta area here today, police said.
Meena Kumari, the accused, often fought with her husband Narasimha, police said. She allegedly strangulated her son at their house today and later tried to end her own life by hanging herself.
Neighbours however intervened and took her to hospital where her condition was stated to be out of danger, a police officer said.
"It seems the woman asked the husband for money for celebrating the son's birthday, and when he refused, she killed the son in a fit of anger," the officer said, citing the complaint lodged by Narasimha.

Chilkalguda police have registered a case of murder and attempt to commit suicide against her. Further probe is on.
