Woman attempts suicide at Jangpura metro station

A 27-year-old woman suffered severe head injury when she allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping on the tracks at Jangpura metro station in southeast Delhi today.
Emergency brakes had to be applied to stop the train from approaching the station, following which the woman was rescued by CISF personnel, a police official said.
The woman was rushed to a hospital, where she was admitted in a critical state.
The incident was reported around 12 PM when the woman was spotted on platform number one of Jangpura station.
The police have recovered a suicide note from the spot, the official said, adding that the woman is believed to be suffering from severe depression.
The police recovered her mobile phone and called up her father to inform him about the incident, he added.
