Woman civic employee held for taking bribe

Lokayukta police today arrested a woman employee of Indore Municipal Corporation for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1,200, which she had demanded to correct the spelling of a name on a birth certificate.
Accused Anita Chintamani (45), in-charge computer operator with zone-3 office of Municipal Corporation was caught following a complaint by Mohammad Ansh, a resident of Madina Nagar, Lokayukta police spokesman said.
Mohammad had filed an application in the zonal office to get the spelling of his son's name corrected to Abdul Moied Siddique, which had been wrongly spelt as Abdul Moiej Siddique in the birth certificate. However, Anita demanded bribe for making the changes, he added.
A trap was laid and Anita was caught accepting bribe and she has been booked under the relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Further investigations into the case is on, the Lokayukta police spokesman said.
