Woman commits suicide, husband tries to kill self

Upset over a family dispute, a 23-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming poison following which her husband too attempted to kill himself.
Sonia committed suicide at her residence in Bachchan Colony here last evening following which her husband Monu (23) also consumed poison and had to be rushed to the hospital, police said.
Monu, who is in serious condition, has been admitted to a Meerut-based hospital.
In another incident, a 14-year-old girl committed suicide yesterday by setting herself ablaze in Abdullpur village of the district.
Police said the girl killed herself after her parents' objected to her behaviour.
"Body of the victim was cremated without informing us" police said.
