After meeting Gurjar in the hospital, Jaiswal while talking to media alleged that not only was Gurjar beaten, but she was also tortured otherwise in an inhuman manner.
Gurjar, Mahila Congress chief from Morena district led an anti-encroachment agitation here on June 6.
Police had registered a case of obstructing official work against Gurjar, Jaiswal added.
Meanwhile, Inspector General (IG) Chambal Range S M Afzal said that as a private complaint had been filed in the court on the issue, the police would follow the court's directives. About the allegation of torture, he said it was being probed.
