The woman, identified as Mamtej, was taken to the CHC yesterday after she complained of labour pain but the staff demanded Rs 3,500, only after which the delivery could be performed, the woman's family alleged.
Later, Mamtej was admitted to the centre after a delay, where she gave birth to a girl child, but died due to post-delivery complications, they said, adding that she lost her life as her delivery got delayed.
Meanwhile, In-charge of the CHC Dr Sharan Singh said strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
