Woman dies after falling into open drain

An unidentified woman died after falling into an open drain in Press Enclave area here, fire department official said today.
The Fire Department received a call at 7.35 AM this morning from a passersby informing that a woman, in her 30s, had fallen into an open drain and rescue workers were rushed to the spot, the official said.
The workers fished out the victim's body from the drain and handed it over to the police.
The case has now been handed over to the police for further investigation, the official said.
