Amit Sinha, brother-in-law of the deceased, identified as Sarika Mishra, said that nine years ago she had eloped from her home with Sahil Khan alias Afroz Alam and married him against wishes of her family.
The couple migrated to Delhi and was living in Sahibabad area since last two years. Sahil runs a coaching institute at Dilshad Garden and is having affairs with other women, he alleged.
Sarika's mother Usha Mishra and Sinha alleged that she was strangled by Sahil and later hanged.
Superintendent of Police (City) Shiv Hari Meena said that a case will be registered under appropriate sections of IPC.
Whether it is a case of suicide or culpable homicide amounting to murder will be decided after investigations are initiated, Meena said.
