Woman hospitalised following attack by daughter-in-law
Press Trust of India Salem (TN) A septuagenarian woman was admitted to a hospital today in a serious condition after her daughter-in-law allegedly inflicted injuries on her neck and hands with a sharp weapon at a village near here, police said.
The 78-year-old woman, suffering from old age ailments, came to her son's house recently as her two daughters refused to look after her, they said.
Her daughter-in-law, who was unwilling to bear the woman's hospital expenses, had allegedly attacked her with a sharp weapon following a quarrel, inflicting injuries on her neck and hands, police said.
Neighbours admitted the woman to the government hospital this morning where she informed police about the incident.
