Woman injured in acid attack dies

A 25-year-old woman undergoing treatment for acid attack in Warangal district of Telangana succumbed to her injuries today, the police said.
Police today took three persons into custody in connection with the incident.
The woman was found with acid burn injuries on her head and face in a field in Garimillapaly village under Zaffergadh police station limits last evening.
Some locals heard her cries near the field last evening and shifted her to a state-run hospital in Warangal.
"The woman had suffered over 50 per cent burn injuries," police said, adding that she died while undergoing treatment tonight.
According to an Investigating official, the woman, a divorcee, had been staying with a man who prima facie hurled the acid on suspicion of her character, after she deserted him recently, along with two others.

The official further said that three persons, including the man with whom she was staying, were taken into custody in connection with the acid attack.
