Woman killed, 4 injured in fight over rivalry

A woman was killed and four others, including her husband, were injured when a group of people attacked them in a Durga Puja pandal here on Dusshra over some old rivalry, police said today.
Bitu alias Kishanveer was attacked with lathis and rifle butt by one Harendra alias Mukhia and his men when he entered the pandal in Vikrampur village of Bah tehsil here after returning from his field last evening, police said.
On hearing about the attack, Bitu's wife and others rushed to the spot, following which the accused opened fire at them, injuring them and other bystanders, they said.

Bitu's wife, Poonam, died on way to hospital, while Bitu and three others were rushed to hospital, they said.
SP (Rural) K P Yadav said police teams have been formed to nab the attackers, who had fled after the incident.
According to the police, the incident followed a long- standing dispute between the two groups in over cutting of a babool tree.
