Woman kills brother, 3 friends by mixing poison in curry

A woman, who allegedly wanted to kill her brother by mixing poison in the chicken curry made for him, unexpectedly killed three of his friends as they shared it while consuming liquor here, the police said today.

Police, who launched investigations following reports that four persons died after consuming poison-laced-liquor, questioned a man, a friend of one of the victims, and found that the brother and three others had taken curry made by the woman and interrogated her.

The woman told police that her intention was only to kill her brother as he had objected to her relationship with a printing press owner, police sources said.

While the brother died after reaching home, the three others died in a nearby garden yesterday, police said.

The printing press owner has been detained, they added.
