Woman poisons grandchildren; 1 dies

: Unable to bear the burden of repaying loans taken by her husband, an old woman allegedly poisoned her two minor grandchildren, one of whom died and made a vain attempt to do so herelf at Kumarapalayam village.
While the seven year old girl died, the eight year old boy and the woman were battling for life in hospital, police said.
The couple were looking after the children after their son and daughter in law had passed away last year.
Over the past few days, some persons from whom her husband had borrowed loans were pressing him to repay the money. Unable to do so, he had not been going for work.

The woman then decided to end her life and that of her grandchildren.
