Police said today that the incident took place when woman along with her two children had gone to a nearby temple. The accused had been identified as Amit.
"As the victim reached the temple, Amit came there and gagged her. Thereafter, he took her to an isolated area at knife point, leaving behind her two children and allegedly raped her," said a police official.
When the temple priest went to attend the nature's call, he found Amit raping the woman.
"Seeing the priest, Amit tried to run away, but he was nabbed by the priest. Later, locals informed the police. Based on the woman's complaint, a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on," he said.
