Assistant Superintendent of Police Asheesh Srivastav said the woman from Seema Puri had lodged complaint against Sahibabad police station constable Kamal Yadav.
She had also blamed the constable of duping her and taking Rs 71,000 rupees. She had also alleged that whenever she demanded her money back the constable threatened to rape her, he said.
After the complaint, the constable was immediately suspended by the district police chief.
But in her statement before the magistrate under 164 CrPC, the woman denied the rape incident and narrated the story of the constable "duping" her of her money.
