Sushila Vishnoi was strangulated by her husband Gopichand Vishnoi (42) yesterday following a tussle over money matters and dispute with in-laws, they said.
The accused allegedly used a "Chunni" for strangulation and covered up his wife's body with household items and placed it under a cot, police said.
Gopichand, who works as a loading labourer in transport nagar area, fled from the spot after committing the crime, but was arrested later in the night, Jhotwara Police said.
The accused confessed to his crime during interrogation, police said, adding a case under section 302 (murder) of IPC has been lodged against him.
