The woman identified as Rebati Sahu (53) of Garagali village was rescued by police and fire brigade yesterday, police said.
She was rushed to the local hospital and then shifted to SCB Medical College Hospital at Cuttack after her condition deteriorated, the sources said.
The woman received multiple injuries, police said adding some morning walkers saw the woman lying on the river bank and writhing in pain with her hands and feet tied with ropes.
Police said the woman alleged that her neighbour wanted to kill her as she was opposing the latter
