Fashion designer Sharbari Dutta, actress Paoli Dam and educationist Devi Kar were also felicitated.
"All these women are achievers in their respective fields and made their mark. Each of them embodies the concept of 'Sonar Meye', Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee said after felicitating the ladies with trophies and citation yesterday.
"From the domain of sports to performing arts and fashion designing, 'Sonar Meyera' (daughters of gold) are taking the nation forward. Let's not forget the immense contribution of women in building the society," Prosenjit said.
'Sonar Sansar', the jewellery show, is being jointly organised by Swarna Shilpa Bachao Committee (SSBC), a forum of jewellers and KNC Services, which organises jewellery exhibitions.
The fair will continue for four days.
