HLL Lifecare Ltd (HLL), a central PSU under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has teamed up with the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) for building a Rs 350 crore women and children cancer Hospital in Mumbai.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) appointing HLL's Infrastructure Development Division as the Project Management Consultant was signed in Mumbai earlier this week, a HLL release said here today.
The construction of the hospital, estimated to cost Rs 350 crore, is to be completed within 30 months.
The HLL-TMC project will include a Hadron Beam facility - the first of its kind in India and only the 12th in the world - to offer the advanced and highly precise proton therapy for cancer patients, the release said.
"HLL is proud to be associated with Tata Memorial Centre in constructing India's first National Hadron Beam Facility and a Cancer Centre for Women and Children, which will be a big boon for cancer patients," said Dr M Ayyappan, CMD of HLL, a mini-Ratna PSU based in Thiruvananthapuram.
