"Women empowerment key to include them in decision-making"

Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi today said women empowerment is the key to increase their participation in decision-making process.
The governor said this after inaugurating a one-day national seminar here on Marketing Access Initiatives for Export from the North East region.
"Women empowerment is the key to increase their participation in decision-making process which is the most important input to socio-economic development", Mukhi said.
Women empowerment signifies social rights, political rights, economic stability, judicial strength and all other rights exclusive to women, said the governor.
Stating there should be no discrimination between men and woman, he urged the women to come forward and reap the benefits of government schemes.

He said Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can provide an avenue for development of women ability as entrepreneurs.
Women's entrepreneurship development in North East has a tremendous potential in empowering women and transforming society in the region, Mukhi said.
