Addressing 'Women Economic Forum' here, Naidu also said that "(In) Housing for All scheme, the houses that are constructed will be in the name of women rather than men."
"Women empowerment is possible only when there is financial empowerment, legislative empowerment and women having the property rights. That's why in our 'Housing for All' scheme the houses that are constructed will be in the name of women rather than men," Naidu, who is Minister for Urban Development, said.
"As far as our own civilization is concerned, woman is highly respected. Mother and Sister invoke the highest of human sentiments and feelings...Our government draws motivation from the age old ways of according woman their due in that sense," he said citing names of several women ministers in the present NDA government.
