The women survived by running into a house for cover when the militants fired at them in Charsadda district of Khyber- Pakthunkhwa province, 30 km from here.
The unidentified armed men, who were riding a motorcycle, carried out the attack when the women were going to a health centre to collect polio vaccines.
The area where the attack was carried out is the base of former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao as well as leaders of the secular-leaning Awami National Party like Khan Abdul Wali Khan, Asfandar Wali Khan and Begum Nasim Wali Khan.
