Women protest against opening of toddy shop

A group of women today staged a protest against opening of a toddy outlet in their locality here, police said.
As many as 20 women along with other locals in Vengalrao Nagar barged into the shop which was to be opened today and also broke toddy bottles, inspector at Ramgopalpet police station A Ganga Reddy said.
Reddy said that women and others were demanding to shift the shop to another place.
"The shop could not be opened today and the outlet owner also held talks with protestors," he said.
No case was registered in this regard.
