Women's commission writes to counterpart in TN

The Kerala Women's Commission today demanded immediate action against the media in Tamil Nadu which had reportedly published the name and photograph of the actress who was abducted and assaulted in Kochi early this year.
The commission made this plea in a letter to its counterpart in Tamil Nadu and Tamil Nadu Public Relations Director, a press release said.
Action should be taken against those who had violated rules in this regard, commission chairperson M C Josephine, said in the letter.
The commission will also launch stringent action againstonline magazines, websites and social media who have named the victim.
Some media organisations in Kerala had given the name and photo of the actress immediately after the incident and this should be removed immediately, the release added.
