"We ask the womenfolk to actively take part in the polls of BDC of Panchayats and ensure that maximum women candidates get elected," state Mahila Congress president Indu Pawar said here.

The BDC polls in the state are scheduled for the first week of November.

On this occasion, Pawar asked Mahila Congress activists to work for strengthening party's base at the grassroots level.

She said that the Central and state governments have started a number of welfare schemes for the upliftment of marginalised sections of the society and it should be ensured that their benefits reach to the needy.
