With 3,12,326 women voters in Kamrup Election District constituting 48.45 per cent of the total electors, the district administration in a bid to ensure women's participation in the electioneering process has engaged women polling personnel in 8 strategic Polling Stations where women will solely run the entire polling process.
In this regard 72 women polling personnel have been trained up by the administration, a district release said today.
While three women candidates are in the fray out of 16 contestants in Hajo, in Boko and Palashbari only one woman candidate is contesting out of 6 in each of the constituencies, the release added.
