Women voters outnumber men in CBE district;in 5 constituencies

: Women voters outnumber men in Coimbatore District and also in five of the 10 assembly constituencies as per the draft electoral roll published here today.
Of the total number of 27,62,463 voters, there are 13,84,627 women voters, 13,77,652 male voters and 184 others.
Women voters outnumbered men in rural constituencies of Pollachi, Valparai, Kinathukadavu, Mettupalayam and Sulur.
Mettupalayam has a total of 2,68,585 voters, comprising 1,32,702 men and 1,35,867 women. Sulur has a total electorate of 2,74,190, with 1,36,302 being men and 1,37,867 women.
Pollachi has a voter strength of 2,15,107 -- 1,53,776, women and 1,09,723 men, while Valparai has an electorate of 1,93,642, comprising 94,378 men and 98,895 women.

Kinathukadavu has an electorate of 2,87,124- 1,42,601, men and 1,44,510 women. However in Koundenpalayam with an electorate of 3,99,382, men outnumber women with the figure standing at 2,00,891 and 1,98,361 respectively.

Coimbatore North has 2,98,160 voters -- 1,50,531 women and 1,47,571 men, Coimbatore South 2,39,041--1,19,874 women and 1,19,138 men, Singanallur an elecorate of 3,00,036, comprising 1,50,802 men and 1,49,213. Thondamuthur has an electorate of 2,87,346 -- 1,43,835 men and 1,43,482 women.
Koundenpalayam has the highest number of 3,99,822 voters while Valparai has the least at 1,93,642.
Of the 184 others, Koundanpalayam has 30, Thondamithur and Coimbatore South 29 each, Singanallur and Sulur 21 each, Mettupalayam 16, Coimbatore North and Pollachi eight each, Kinathukadavu 13 and Valparai nine.
