Works on new rail projects in Bihar begins

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today inaugurated passenger amenities at Salauna station in Bihar and commenced works for three new tracks through video conferencing from here.
Works of doubling the lines between Hajipur and Bachwara, Samastipur and Darbhanga, and a third line between Patratu and Sonnagar were commenced to decongest the rail traffic.
The 72-km doubling of Hajipur and Bachhwara is estimated to cost Rs 678.15 cr while the 38-km doubling of Samastipur- Darbhanga is estimated to cost Rs 491.01 cr.
The 291-km-long third line between Patratu and Sonnagar is estimated to cost Rs 306.16 cr.
