"We have had our best ever quarter (July-September) with sales of more than one million units. We have been witnessing about 45% sequential growth for the last three quarters," Xiaomi India Head Manu Jain said.
However, the sales numbers are in contrast to data shared by research firm Counterpoint Research which in a report said Xiaomi had seen a drop in shipments sequentially due to fierce competition from Lenovo and Micromax's Yu.
Jain said the sales were led by a strong demand for Redmi 2 Prime smartphones that are assembled at a plant run by Foxconn in Andhra Pradesh.
He, however, declined to give specific shipment details.
Mi.Com site, which sells Xiaomi smartphones and other accessories to consumers through a marketplace model, was attracting millions of customers, he said.
Xiaomi had started its own e-commerce portal in June this year.
"Within five months of enabling sales through Mi.Com, we have achieved 10 million visits in October," he added.
In September, Xiaomi had said it has sold three million smartphones in India since its launch in the country in July last year.
The company had started its sales in India through Flipkart but now sells its products through Amazon, Snapdeal, The Mobile Store, Airtel and its Mi.Com store as well.
