For this, a workplan is being prepared by a special group, comprising Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, the states where Yamuna is most polluted, said Bharti, who was visiting Vrindavan on the occasion of Janmashtami.
Apart from tackling the problem of pollution in Yamuna, a a proposal to provide a minimum water level in the river is also under consideration, the Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation said.
She said the orders given by National Green Tribunal would also be followed in this regard and efforts would be made in collaboration with the state governments to prevent encroachments and pollution in the river.
